Collaboration At The Heart Of SBC

Here at Social B. Creative, we love collaboration. Generating creative projects that showcase multiple creative freelancers’ talents while benefiting our clients is at the heart of our mission. Let’s talk about a prime example of said collaboration.

In a recent passion project, SBC combined the artistic talents of Toledo-based fluid artist Chel Smith with new music soon to be released by pop/rock musician Catlea, and the result was a unique, bee-inspired abstract painting and music video to generate awareness for the environmental impact of Greenpeace.

Carefully selecting bee-specific colors, the visual artist used a honey-drip painting technique to transform two blank canvases into one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

Currently, these original paintings are up for grabs! If you haven’t checked it out yet, there’s still time to enter for our giveaway. To enter to win, just follow these simple steps:

Art with a Purpose

In an effort to showcase their talents and creativity, the SBC team of Matt (Videographer), Emily (Creative Director), and Lucas (Social Media Strategist), banded together to make this project happen for our artistic clients. The video and paintings resonate with SBC and the two artists who all feel strongly about supporting the wild bee habitat, truly creating a good-feeling partnership.

“Bees are an integral part of what makes nature thrive. The loss of bees would mean a loss of a creative force in this world,” says Chel. According to her artist statement, beauty can come from the most random parts of nature, and her fluid artwork is a unique example of this phenomenon. Selection of color and technique play key roles in what is expressed in her abstract paintings, but the true unpredictability of each piece is what ties it all together.

Adds Catlea: Bee conservation is something I’ve been passionate about for a very long time, and I am excited to be a part of this collaborative effort to drive awareness and support of Greenpeace. Special thanks to Chel for creating this abstract bee painting to my upcoming song, “Broken Down”, out June 21.”
